Have you ever wondered what’s in someone’s diary? What if you had the chance to read their most personal, inner thoughts…thoughts never meant to be shared…never meant to crack the perfect facade they’ve spent their life creating?

You now have that chance in The Diary of Rosalie Shepherd, a deeply personal story about identity, belonging, friendship, love, and the courage to choose a life that feels authentic, even when it looks nothing like the one you planned.

Rosalie Shepherd has never felt like she belongs anywhere…not at either parent’s home, not in the college parties she can hardly remember attending, and not in the polished, Corporate America future she’s spent her life working toward. As Rosalie begins living out what she thought was her dream life in New York City, she’s quickly faced with the harsh reality of trying to live a life that pleases the people around her.

Lonely, ashamed, and unfulfilled, Rosalie sets out to redefine her life. Through failed recipes, dead plants, and difficult conversations, she begins discovering a growing desire to create a home rather than simply chase a career…a life she never imagined wanting for herself.

As she learns to foster her own values, will she find the courage to choose a different path than the one she’s always been told to pursue? Will she find fulfillment? Will she find herself? Only time…and a diary never meant to be shared…will tell.

“I just finished [The Diary of Rosalie Shepherd] and I LOVED it. I’m sure you’ve heard this from other women, but it was like reading my own life story. I cried through it more than I’d like to admit (I blame pregnancy hormones). It was beautiful and exactly the kind of thing women in our age range should be reading. I think so many of us have been sold a lie through the years (you have to go to college, you have to climb the corporate ladder, you have to be independent and can never depend on anyone else - especially not, gasp, a man). You and I have walked such a similar path and I’m so glad both of us are fulfilled by other things now (gardening, cooking, a truly good man). Anyway, just wanted to let you know that this is one of my favorite books I’ve read in a while. It was perfect.”

“I just read [The Diary of Rosalie Shepherd] and it was so lovely to read while nursing my own baby girl. I’ve been gunning it in the corporate world for the last decade of my career since graduating, and I’m finally realizing it leaves me feeling miserable. The forced proximity to dysregulated people, the toxicity, the insane pace, the pressure to scarf down my meals so I can get back to work…I finally quit last summer because the stress was absolutely not going to affect my pregnancy. Now I’m a SAHM and I’m enjoying something I used to think I’d dread.

Also, I sincerely enjoyed reading from your book the prospect of 1) choosing a partner you trust enough to take care of you...such a reframe from "never need a man/partner," and 2) investing your care and time into pouring into your family and building them up out of acts of love, every day.”

“I’ve finally gotten round to finishing [The Diary of Rosalie Shepherd] and I didn’t realize I could relate to something so much. I have been so lost and after reading this book I can now see why and where I need to go next. I am a stay at home mum in the uk my children are 3 and 1. All this time I’ve been looking at myself as a house wife and feeling just lost and lazy struggling to get through the day. Now I am seeing I need to recenter myself and look at life as a homemaker. That’s my purpose and it’s a job in itself to be proud of. Also work on myself and find hobbies I love that fit into the lifestyle I have. Ironically baking and gardening are the things I’ve been trying since moving to a new home away from the city in a little village”
